Buying by the roll: what to know about dye lots
Every roll is dyed in a single batch, called a dye lot. Colours can differ slightly between lots, which matters when you need a lot of fabric that matches.
On every roll in our shop you will see a roll ID and a dye ID. Choose several rolls with the same dye ID and the colour will match from end to end. We flag it when your selection mixes dye lots, so there are no surprises.
Buying the whole roll also brings the price per metre down, which is why dressmakers, quilters and retailers buy this way.
